Most gardening pads are just a dime a dozen. Just because they are cheap does not mean they are of good quality. They were just designed by someone with no gardening experience and really didn’t expect to become a top-selling brand. It wasn’t until I did my own research and homework that I found out what makes a great quality gardening pad. Here are some of my top tips for choosing the best gardening pad for you.
The first thing you should consider is what kind of gardening pad do you need. Most gardeners use a lightweight and portable type of gardening pad. Most of them are actually made for heavy machinery, so it’s really only professional-grade and really sturdy. It’s the lightest and most comfy floor pad on the market today.
Next, you want to find a pad that is fully waterproof. Most of them aren’t waterproof, but some can help with standing water by providing a water-resistant layer over the surface of your gardening pad. Some are even completely waterproof. This is helpful if you are out in the field and have a large puddle of water.
There are some lightweight pads that have full product dimensions. These pads actually sit on the ground as a flat pillow and provide a very comfortable cushion for sitting. They typically come in very light colors and are very comfortable. You won’t be able to tell that they are portable and light when sitting on the ground, but they do pack away nicely in small packages when not in use.
Tips For Buying
When buying a full-sized outdoor kneeling pad, make sure you find one with a lifetime warranty. Many people just think they are getting a good deal and don’t bother looking for a lifetime warranty. If you buy a pad and it breaks down in just a year, you will end up paying hundreds of dollars to get a new one. It’s better to get a portable pad with a lifetime warranty than to have to pay thousands of dollars for a new one every few years.
One thing to look for when buying pads that cushion your knees is whether or not they are cushioned for your hips. A lot of people don’t realize that the right size of gardening cushion pad can be important when walking through gardens with their hoes or spades. Also, be sure to check the foam or air cells that the pads are made out of. Some of them are more durable and hold up better than others.
If you plan to use your gardening cushion pad outdoors, it’s also a good idea to get a pad with some sort of water-resistant lining. This way, you don’t have to lug your foam pad around to protect it from getting wet. Some of these pads will have adjustable hook and loop straps so you can keep the pad away from the ground. If you plan on using your pad outside, the water-resistant lining will ensure that your cushion pad stays nice and dry for long periods of time. If you buy the wrong sized pad for your climate, you could end up spending a lot of money on new pads over the course of a season.
